Islamabad and KP Police Cricket teams share trophy after final washed out
ISLAMABAD: Crickets teams of Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were declared joint champions of the Police Martyrs' Memorial Cricket tournament 2014 as the final match between both teams could not be held due to rain.
This tournament called `All Pakistan Jan Nisar T-20 Cricket Tournament’ was held from March 24 to March 28 and eight cricket teams including Islamabad Police, Frontier Constabulary, Balochistan Police, Punjab Police, Sindh Police, KPK Police, FIA and National Highways and Motorways Police participated in the tournament.
DIG (Headquarters) Khalid Khattak said that this tournament was held to remember those gallant cops who sacrificed their lives to protect the lives of others. He said the whole nation is proud of these brave sons of the soil and they would remain always alive in our heart.
DIG (Headquarters) said that Islamabad Police had organized such tournament in the past which was greatly supported. This event dedicated to the martyred cops would be made held in future too, he maintained.
He congratulated AIG (Establishment) Ashraf Zubair Siddiqui and his team including , SP CID Zubair Ahmed Sheikh and others over making arrangements for this tournament and organizing this event successfully. He also thanked president Islamabad region Cricket Association Shakeel Ahmed Shaikh for his cooperation.
He said that such activities will also remain continue in upcoming days so that policemen can also participate in the sports activities besides performing their professional duties.
In the end, DIG (Headquarters) distributed trophies and prizes among those players who showed good performance in the tournament. The Captains of both team also shared the trophy of the tournament.

The cricket teams of Islamabad Police and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) police Thursday won the semifinals and qualified for the final of ‘All Pakistan Police Janisar T20 Cricket Tournament’ organized by Islamabad Police.

Islamabad, March 27, 2014: The cricket teams of Islamabad Police and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) police Thursday won the semifinals and qualified for the final of ‘All Pakistan Police Janisar T20 Cricket Tournament’ organized by Islamabad Police.
In the first semifinal Islamabad Police defeated the National Highways and Motorways Police (NH&MP) team while in the second semifinal Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) cricket team defeated the Frontier Core (FC) team.
In the first semi final of the tournament, Islamabad Police has qualified for the final by defeating NH&MP by 77 runs. The Islamabad Police team in the first innings set the target of 170 runs and restricts the opponent team on just 93 runs in the limited overs.
The final of the tournament would be played among Islamabad Police and KPK teams on Friday (March 28).
Assistant Inspector General (AIG), Ashraf Zubair Siddiquee distributed the prizes among the players for their performance.

Speaking on the occasion AIG Islamabad Police, Zubair Siddiquee said that the purpose of organizing such event was to remind sacrifices of the people who rendered their precious lives for the safety of the country and nation .
He said that these type of activities would be helpful for the physical fitness of police personnels.

ISLAMABAD, March 26: Islamabad police have arrested 11 outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered weapons and wine from their possession, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.
According to details, a special team constituted by SP Industrial Area including police officials of Sabzi Mandi police station busted a gang of dacoits and recovered snatched vehicle and motorbikes from their possession. The nabbed dacoits have been identified as Naeem, Ahmed, Zafar and further investigation is underway from them.
Meanwhile, Secretariat police arrested Qasim Khan and Abdul Hakeem and recovered one 30 bore pistol each from them while Sher Bahadur was nabbed by Margallah police in possession of a wine bottle.
Tarnol police recovered 40 bore pistol from an accused Malik Irfan while Loi Bher police arrested four car occupants Arsalan Ansar, Abdullah, Haroon and Naeem for having three wine bottles. Cases have been registered against them and further investigation is underway from all of the nabbed accused.
During general hold up, Islamabad police impounded 104 bikes and seven vehicles for being driven without authentic documents while black papers were removed from six vehicles.
Senior police officials have directed all SDPOs and SHO to ensure effective policing.

ISLAMABAD, March 26, 2014: As an encouragement for those policemen accomplishing their duties in a responsible manner, IGP Islamabad Sikandar Hayat awarded nine cops as an acknowledgement of their outstanding performance during last month. AIG Operations Islamabad Dr.Sultan Azam Temuri was also present on this occasion.
Those who were given cash prizes and commendation certificates include Inspector Aman Ullah (Special Branch), Sub-Inspector Dilawar (Traffic Division), Sub-Inspector Tehseen (Operation Division), Assistant Sub-Inspector Ghulam Mustafa (Traffic), ASI Shafqat Abbas (Traffic), ASI Saleem Raza (Operation Division), ASI Zahoor Ali (Security Division), Constable Yasir Shah (Security Division) and Constable Kosar Mehmood (Special Branch).
IGP Islamabad Sikandar Hayat said encouragement for policemen showing good performance would be ensured and accountability system to be made more effective to monitor performance of the police officials. He said that hard work always brings success and accountability in any department brings improvement in its performance.
The IGP said that four best performing policemen from each division of Islamabad police would be selected each month who will be not only awarded prizes but welfare steps would be also ensured for them.
He said that Islamabad police force is committed to provide protection and fool proof security to the citizens and this responsibility would be professionally accomplished in future with
same zeal and zest.
“Accountability system helps in improving the performance of any department and working of the staff can be easily judged through it. Such accountability system would continue in future and those performing well would be encouraged”, he added.
He said those policemen involved in corrupt practices or sluggish attitude would have to face strict disciplinary action.

ISLAMABAD, March 25: Shehzad town police Islamabad has busted a gang of Afghan nationals involved in street crime and dacoity incidents, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
According to details, unidentified persons committed dacoity at `new city whole sale traders general store’ near Bhatta Stop in Shehzad town area and killed Abdul Rasheed besides injuring four others for offering resistance to them. A case (no. 77) was registered at Shehzad town police station and investigation was started into this incident.
SP (Rural) constituted special team to trace the culprits of this heinous crime which succeeded to arrest Shafiq s/o Muhammad Israr and Shams ur Rehman s/o Saif ur Rehman residents of Afghanistan. During the initial investigation, the gangsters have confessed to be involved in street crime and dacoities in various areas of twin cities.
Senior police officials have appreciated this performance and directed to intensify efforts against criminal elements.

ISLAMABAD, March 24: Islamabad police on Monday arrested 20 outlaws including 10 gamblers besides recovering stake money, 10 mobiles, wine and stolen property from their possession a police spokesman said.
According to details, Aabpara police arrested two bootleggers namely Shafique Gull, Khuram Masih and recovered 04 wine bottles from their possession.
Shalimar police arrested accused Hameed Ullah and recovered 05 wine bottles from him. Ramna police arrested accused Azhar and Lohi bher police held Noor Ullah for having weapons and ammunition.
Sihala police arrested accused Rabnawaz involved in decanting gas in cylinders llegally. On a tip off, Koral police raided at gambling den at villiage `Pehja' and arrested 10 gamblers red handed.
They were identified as Arslan Shamraiz, Arshad Mehmood, Ishtiaq, Shah Zil, Qasim, Khadam, Safdar Ali, Mudasar, Tasawur and Babar Saleem. Police team recovered stake Rs. 5390 and 10 mobiles from their possession.
Cases have been registered against the accused and further investigation was underway. Meanwhile police arrested three proclaimed offenders from various area of the city.
During general hold up, 87 bikes and 09 cars were impounded in various police stations for being driven without authentic documents while black papers were removed from 07 tinted glasses.
Senior police official appreciated the performance of the police and crackdown against the criminals and anti-social elements.

ISLAMABAD, March 21, 2014: Islamabad Police have finalized all necessary arrangements for Police Martyrs' Memorial Cricket tournament starting from March 24 which would be participated by eight teams of law enforcement departments.
AIG (Establishment) Ashraf Zubair Siddiqui reviewed the arrangements for this tournament and finalized security program as well as other arrangements for this event in meeting held on Friday. SP Headquarters Gulfam Nasir, SP CID Zubair Ahmed Sheikh, DSP Headquarters Ashraf Shah, Malik Ayub Awan Reader to the IGP Islamabad and others were also present on the occasion.
This tournament called `All Pakistan Jan Nisar T-20 Cricket Tournament’ will be held from March 24 to March 28 and eight cricket teams including Islamabad Police, Frontier Constabulary, Balochistan Police, Punjab Police, Sindh Police, KPK Police, FIA and National Highways and Motorways Police will take part in the tournament.
AIG (Establishment) assigned responsibilities to each member and said that objective to organize this tournament is to pay tribute, remember and acknowledge the services of those JAWANS who rendered great sacrifices in the line of duty and even sacrificed their lives.
He said that such activities will also remain continue in future so that policemen can also participate in the sports activities besides performing their professional duties. He also hoped for one sparking performance from the players.

ISLAMABAD, March 22: Islamabad police on Saturday arrested 10 outlaws besides recovering wine and stolen property from their possession a police spokesman said.
According to details, Shehzad Town police recovered 30 bore pistol from an accused Shahbaz Ahmed involved in murder case. Shehzad Town police also recovered 02 pistols 30 bore from two accused namely Faisal Shah and Jhanzaib involved in murder case.

Meanwhile Aabpara police arrested accused Muhammad Shah and recovered Kalashnikov, two magazines as well as 60 bullets. Another police team also arrested accused Suleman and recovered one dagger from him.
Margalla Police arrested a bootlegger namely Fazal Mehmood and recovered wine bottle from him. CIA police raided at House No. 1-A Johar Road sector F-8/4 and arrested two accused Muhammad Qasim and Miss LUE besides recovering cache of wine from them.
Ramna Police arrested an accused Imran while Bani Gala police arrested Ikram-Ul-Haq for having 30 bore pistol.. Cases have been registered against the accused and further investigation was underway. Meanwhile police arrested two proclaimed offenders.
During general hold up, 110 bikes and 6 cars were impounded in various police stations for being driven without authentic documents, black papers were removed from 04 tinted glass.

Traffic police hold safety rally to celebrate Pakistan Day
Islamabad Traffic Police ( ITP) on Sunday held “ Pakistan Payandabad Road Safety Rally” to celebrate Pakistan Day.
The purpose of the rally was to create more awareness of traffic laws among citizens.
AIG Operations Dr Sultan Azam Tamori , SSP Traffic Malik Matloob Ahmed, DSP Muhammad Ilyas Hashmi, Programme Manager Ayesha Jamil, officials, people from different walks of life and students participated in the rally.
The rally started from F-9 Park and after passing through Jinnah Avenue, Margallah Road, it culminated at F-10 Markaz.


Speaking on the occasion, AIG Operations Dr. Sultan Azam Tamori said that on the direction of Interior Minister every step was being taken for the safety of citizens and implementation of a more effective traffic system in the capital.
He said that purpose of holding the rally was to make people aware about the importance of discipline in life and observance of traffic rules to avoid accidents on roads.
He called on youth to observe traffic rules by avoiding one-wheeling and over-speeding and use of helmets for their own safety.
AIG said such efforts would be continued to ensure traffic discipline. He said that cooperation of people was key to make traffic system more vibrant, effective and smooth following.

ISLAMABAD, March 18: Islamabad police on Tuesday arrested 10 outlaws besides recovering wine and stolen property from their possession a police spokesman said. 

According to details, Secretariat police arrested a thief namely Mehmood Akhtar and recovered stolen property from him. Margalla police arrested bootleggers namely Shah Roze and recovered 3 wine bottles from him and also arrested a fake cop namely shahid.Industrial Area police arrested three accused identified as Muhammad Wiji, Jan and Muhammad Sharfat and recovered one wine bottle, one digger and four bullets from their possession.
Sihala police arrested two accused namely Irfan and Nazeer involved in illegal gas filling. Cases have been registered against the accused and further investigation was underway. Meanwhile police arrested two proclaimed offenders.

While during general hold up, 76 bikes and 6 cars were impounded in various police stations for being driven without authentic documents,black papers were removed from two tinted glass while 14 suspects were also arrested during search operation.

ITP provides assistance to 1378 road users
Islamabad March 18, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), during the two and half month, provided help to 1378 road users whose vehicles met accident on various roads of the city or had faced any other problem like running out of fuel.
On directions of the Federal Minister for Interior Ch Nisar Ali Khan, ITP is working extensively for improving the traffic system, making it more helpful for the users and ensuring smooth flow of traffic in Islamabad.

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) help unit, which had been working round the clock, provides assistance in various shifts.
AIG (Operations) Sultan Azam Temuri said that ITP is endeavoring best to ensure safe road environment in the city.
He added the ITP has involved community in its affairs to achieve the desired targets of disciplined traffic and equal implementation of law with zero tolerance against violation of rules.
He said that due to community participation, the ITP is successfully implementing its policing affairs and this force is getting success due to its friendly policing culture.
He appealed the citizens to cooperate with traffic police and follow traffic rules in true letter and spirit.
He said that performance of ITP is very much satisfactory and it has succeeded in ensuring safe road environment in the city within a very short span of time.
He assured to continue programs for the safety of road users in future too so that motorists in Islamabad can be provided safe road environment.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Malik Matloob Hussain has said the ITP officers and jawans are working in the help unit to facilitate road users and provide them help in case of any emergency on roads. He said the road users, facing any problem, can call 1915, the help unit’s contact number, so that they could be provided immediate assistance.

He maintained that the policing was a service-providing job and every possible effort was being made to maintain close liaison with the people. ITP help unit repaired 679 vehicles, changed the tyres of 143 vehicles and pushed 130 vehicles and provided pick and drop service to 163 vehicle owners.He said 183 vehicles were provided assistance after running out their fuel, while 69 pedestrians were also provided help by this unit of ITP.

The SSP (Traffic) Malik Matloob said that police is a service oriented organization and every possible help would be made to ensure community policing through assistance to road users by ITP.

Islamabad police register cases against 14 Afghan nationals under Foreigner Act

ISLAMABAD, March 17: Islamabad police conducted search operation in `Machar Colony` in sector F-11/2 and arrested 55 Afghan nationals, a police spokesman said on Monday.

According to details, IGP Islamabad as directed all zonal heads and Station House Officers of Police stations to conduct search operation in their respective areas. Following his directions, teams of Margallah and Shalimar police stations under supervision SP (Saddar) Muhammad Ilyas, SDPO Margallha, SHOs and lady police commandoes conducted search operation in `Machar Colony` in sector F-11/2.



Police team nabbed 55 Afghan nationals and cases have been registered against 14 Afghan nationals under Foreigner Act.

Meanwhile, Islamabad police nabbed nine other outlaws and recovered weapons from them. Senior officials of Islamabad police have directed to get the picture of each suspect, their mobile record and verify their identity.

Islamabad police arrest dacoits after police encounter

ISLAMABAD, March 17: Ramana police has arrested gangsters after police encounter who were involved in dacoity incidents and also wanted to police for their alleged involvement in several criminal activities including murder, a police spokesman said on Monday.



According to details, unidentified persons busted in the house of Suleman Mansoor in Street no. 10, sector G-11/3 and snatched cash, gold ornaments, lap top and other valuables. Soon after the incident, he informed the Rescue 15 police following which SP (Saddar) Muhammad Ilyas reached there along with police team and cordoned off the area.

Police team started searching of the area and some criminals were found near a nullah. On seeing policemen, they started firing at police party which was also retaliated by policemen.



Police team managed to arrested two gangsters identified as Shehzad Arif s/o Muhammad Arif and Rashid s/o Muhammad Afzal residents of Zafarwal area in Narowal. Two pistols were also recovered from them while one of their accomplices getting injuries was also arrested. Another criminal of same gang Imran was also nabbed from DHQ Hospital Rawalpindi. He was wanted to police in dacoity and murder incidents.





Police team also recovered snatched valuables were from them. IGP Islamabad has appreciated the performance of police team who arrested these gangsters and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for each member of team.



He has further directed for effective policing and ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens.
